Bacary Sagna asked to explain comments about referee Lee Mason to FA

Bacary Sagna is fit to face Manchester United on Saturday

Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna has until 6pm on Friday to explain to the Football Association why he posted comments on social media regarding the performance of referee Lee Mason.

Mason took charge of Manchester City's 2-1 win over Burnley on Monday which saw midfielder Fernandinho shown his third red card in six matches for lunging in two-footed on Johann Berg Gudmundsson in the 32nd minute.

Sagna appeared to hit out at the officials after the Premier League encounter, posting on Instagram that the game was like '10 against 12'.

The FA have confirmed to SSN HQ that they are 'seeking observations' from the France international.

Once the FA have received and reviewed Sagna's response, only then will they decide whether to proceed with any disciplinary measures.
